With the value of exports decreasing at a faster pace than the value of imports, the Commerce Department released a report Thursday morning showing that the U.S. trade deficit in April was slightly wider than the trade deficit in March.
The report showed that the trade deficit widened to $40.3 billion in April from a revised deficit of $40.0 billion in March. The trade deficit had been expected to widen to $41.3 billion from the $40.4 billion originally reported for the previous month. Read more here.
